JVD launches an innovative, environmentally-friendly hand dryer, the Zephyr Bio, made from bio-sourced plastic derived from scallop shells! All the scallops used are from the French consumer market.






A logical move

JVD makes equipment in France for the hygiene market, and the bio-sourced hand dryer demonstrates its commitment to a recycling, local-sourcing economy. Built in its factory in Rezé in the Loire valley, the Zephyr Bio completes the existing range of hot-air hand dryers.

The same but better!

There is no compromise on quality and comfort: the Zephyr Bio is even tougher, quieter (69dB) and more powerful (2100W) than the other dryers in the Zephyr range produced by JVD.

A ground-breaking
bio-sourced plastic

The ecological, forward-looking Zephyr Bio hand dryer is a breakthrough for the hygiene market. The product case is made from organic bio-plastic, meaning the plastic is combined with shells derived from the French consumer market. This fact is stated on the label on the front of the product, which says ‘Ecological material – With shells / with coquillage.’

JVD’s No. 1 commitment: responsible manufacturing

This innovation is part of JVD’s wider commitment to responsible manufacturing by fighting planned obsolescence, using environmentally-friendly raw materials, and partnering with local suppliers to reduce the impact of transport. JVD promises to innovate intelligently to reduce energy consumption in production and equipment.

 

 

To this end it has introduced a programme in which, for every Air range hand dryer sold, one tree is planted in partnership with Planète Urgence.

 

So far this partnership has meant that over 30,000 trees have been planted in Indonesia, in the tropical forest of Borneo, considered to be one of the planet’s green lungs.
