JVD formalizes the acquisition of Hygitec, an expert in the design and manufacture of drying and disinfection cabinets for personal protective equipment (PPE). This operation represents a key milestone for the company’s growth, enriching its range of protection solutions and strengthening its position in the agri-food industry market.
Through this strategic initiative and the recent acquisition of Novven, a company specialized in civil protection, JVD establishes itself as the European leader in drying and disinfection solutions for workwear and PPE.
“This acquisition marks a new stage in JVD’s development. By integrating Hygitec, we strengthen our ability to offer comprehensive solutions that meet the needs of professionals exposed to pollutants and risks of infection or contamination. Together, we will continue to innovate to improve safety and comfort at work”, says Thierry Launois, CEO of JVD.
PPE Safety and Hygiene: A Comprehensive Offering for Uncompromising Protection
The arrival of Hygitec alongside Novven within JVD’s newly established “Protection” division creates a synergy that offers the dynamic PPE market comprehensive drying and maintenance solutions. Using eco-friendly technology based on heat, ventilation, and UV rays, the Hygitec drying and disinfection cabinet eliminates bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants through ozone-based forced-air drying. In addition to disinfecting equipment, it also extends its lifespan, making daily life easier for professionals in the agri-food industry and public sectors who need to maintain their workwear.
“PPE is becoming increasingly technical, expensive, and more frequently shared. It was therefore essential for a group like JVD to provide a full range of innovative products to ensure their durability, performance, and hygienic sharing conditions,” continues Thierry Launois.
Through this new acquisition, JVD aims to become the global leader in PPE disinfection solutions, a service offering still limited in the hygiene market.
A project rooted in a local and sustainable production approach
The group fully integrates Hygitec, which will benefit from its expertise, the know-how of its subsidiaries, and its extensive sales network to accelerate growth and expand its international presence.
The manufacturing of these cabinets will be carried out by the company based in Aix-les-Bains. Hygitec will maintain its premises and current organization in Savoy while benefiting from the support of JVD’s headquarters in Nantes.
As a pioneer of the circular economy, the group will share its expertise in the future to incorporate a refurbished product offering into the activities of its new company.
